OH THE AGONY

Filed under: Archive — site admin @ 5:50 am

I believe I have effectively come to understand the pain and misery of PMS. Yes, it seems as though I, too, will now bleed for a week (or so) without dying. I made my first car payment this week.

While I deeply and truely love my car (pictured below), I hate the idea that I have no money left from last week’s paycheck. And it wasn’t a terrible check. It wasn’t spectacular, but it was decent. I feel my remaining money trickling down my spine a lot now.

In the work front, I’ve been tasked the task of building a web-based application. It should be quite fun and interresting. I’ll be using Ruby on Rails (which I’ve finally begun to understand thanks to the pickaxe book) and SQL Server 2005 Express. Why RoR and SQL Server? Because they’re both free and chosing SQL Server means that if they make me switch to ASP.Net or something similar, it will easily work in that environment as well. And we can easily scale up to a bigger and better SQL Server without too much trouble, as there are all sorts of SQL Servers floating around here (well, at least on the national level) now. Should be fun and interesting. And it’ll keep me very busy for quite a while.

My New Solstice

My New Solstice

I took a bunch of pictures just before nightfall and this is the only one that’s not blurry. More to come once I wash her again. Next time I’ll use a tripod if it’s too dark.
