The Tao of Jace

Wow, this has been a craaaazy week. By wed. I had already racked up more than two hours of overtime. I likey the time and a half. It’sa very nice.

Mandy’s been gone all week, not that I noticed or anything. Actually I have. I’ve been getting much more sleep. It’s probably a good thing she doesn’t read this all that often… To be honest, I was really ready for a week off from that. I love that girl to death, but sometimes… damn.

So work’s good. I’ve been building a database for issues we have with dealerships here. It’s wicked what all Access can do, with just a little effort and programming knowledge you can do a WHOLE lot with it. It’s really spiffy. Not that I don’t still think it sucks and it’s stupid that our ENTIRE OPERATION here operates out of some form of an Access database; but it’s got some real power behind it if you can learn how to work with it.

Jess, I’m good. Mandy and I are doing well, except that last week she was really getting on my nerves. Not sure why, maybe I’m just tired or she was just bitchy, but grrrr. I really love ‘er though, and we’re kinda throwing around the “M” word. Scary as hell. I’m working a lot but I’m getting paid rather well, so I’ve finally got some money in the ol’ bank account. That’s kinda nice. Mandy and I will be at the Dave Matthews Band concert in Dallas on 3 Sep, and I’m really looking forward to getting out of town with her. I just can’t wait. I’m taking my first paid day off next friday to go to our family reunion by way of the BigD. Justin and his fiancé will be there from Georgia, and I’m really excited to see him. Been a long time, and I can’t wait to hang out with them. Rock the Desert is this weekend, and that’s always fun. I’ll be working backstage again, and I’ll get to hang out with the sound techs.
