PHP is taking over…
Oh now. I think I'm becoming a PHP lover.
I think it's awesome, it's easy, and it's fast. Not to mention the huuuuuge user base. Certain things I don't like, but it's so much easier than ASP.Net that I don't really care.
So, the main thing that I like is that I can build the webpage locally (on my Mac), and use the database on my webserver, so I can post comments, but you can't. I can change everything and then upload it when I'm ready.
Or I can use TextWrangler and update my webpage over FTP FOR FREE! I've got to say that I love this program. It alone is worth switching to a Mac for. I can update all my locked PHP files, and system resource files. I can open, edit and save a file through FTP, and it's totally free. It's really, really cool.
So, now the comments are working (locally) for TaoPHP, and I'm really happy cause it can use BBCode for all the comments. Which means my new site is about 50% done pages wise, and 80% done code wise. Hopefully I'll make my May 1st “deadline”. We'll see.
Hope all is well wherever you are.
